Between the Rosary and Neue Deutsche Welle, a Protestant Christian experiences her first Marian pilgrimage on Rügen. Together with around 30 people, she makes the pilgrimage from Putbus to Bergen, accompanied by prayers, songs and spiritual reflections. The Rosary in particular opens up a new experience of community and closeness to God for her. Amidst incense, altar bells and New German Wave hits, the boundaries between pilgrimage and pilgrims blur – and it is precisely in this that she finds something profoundly divine.
